for all of christianity, even the mormons if you want to count them as christians, their core teachings of salvation through jesus death hasn't exactly changed in a long time either...

Obviously Marvin has never been to university. Whatever's in the textbook is on the test. You will fail the class if you fail the tests. Arguing with the professor about something wrong in his textbook will get you nowhere. Violate the rules and you are kicked out. What a cult!

I can never be readmitted to Harvard because I disagreed with the man made rules of your self appointed professors. Why should we trust and be expected to listen to them when when so many of them have turned out to be pedophiles, drunkards, and get sexually involved with students!

because unlike the pedophiles and drunkards on the governing body who got sexually active with some of the bethelites, everything the professors say can be tested FOR YOURSELF.

you can do the experiments, work out the math, you can go to different sources to see if there is agreement...

there is no other source for the jws other than the governing body.

you cannot test their sayings to see if they are true.

you have to go by blind faith

whereas in school, blind faith without PROOF is a surefire way to an "F"

You guys read these cult books and suddenly think you have perfectly articulated and deduced what JWs would and would not do. I think thats a little presumptuous and arrogant to tell me I dont have a "tipping point".

we WERE jws at one point. some of us were pioneers, bethelites, and/or elders. we came from all spectrums.

quite a few of us were born in, some of us joined up later.

many of us still have family members still in.

so yes, we have a pretty damn good idea how you guys operate. maybe not YOU per se, but by and large, we know the culture within.

If JWs change so much, why are our core doctrines the same as they were 100 years ago.

with that statement, i wonder just how much you actually know about the history of jehovah's witnesses.

100 years ago, blood transfusions would have been cool.
in the past 100 years,you guys said that organ donations were ok, then they were cannibalistic, and now they're ok

in the past 100 years, you guys taught that 1914 was the end times
then you taught 1918 was the end times and that god would destroy all the churches.
then you taught that 1925 was the end times and that moses would be ressurected
then you taught that the in 1975, it'd have been 6k years since adam's creation and the start of the new system.

we could go on and on...

I have to wonder why people cant help but focus.on seven million little JWs, when Christendom has been teaching traditions and pagan concepts for two thousand years and refuses to stop deceiving the REAL masses.

again, you forget that this is a forum of ex-jehovah's-witnesses

besides, there's plenty of us ex-jws who are atheists, non-religious, or some form of spiritual with a distaste for organized religion.

I didn't get to play School Sports :-( ...did you?

just started watching 'friday night lights' .... great show, but it's making me a little bitter!

17 years after high school, i am still bummed i didn't get to play football or baseball.

i knew my elder dad would get busted from the others in the elders club.

i got to run track for my freshman year. best time i had in an ugly ugly childhood.

i played in the band and was supposed to be in the marching band that year as well.

couldn't do marching band, that year was nothing but patriotic themes.

after that freshman year, i bounced from hs to hs, wasn't allowed to run track and of course could't play in the band or orchestra.

all downhill from there
